Ditch the “diet”…

When I think back like 10years I seriously just shake my head at myself at what my idea of “dieting” was. It meant I picked low fat & fat free, diet soda, sugar free, 100 calorie pack snacks, and those frozen “meals”.


The REALLY sad part is that I *thought* I needed to “diet”. What I really eventually learned was that I needed to “feed my body right”. Once I realized what I really NEEDED to be doing I started to feel so many changes to my mind, body, spirit. More energy, clearer mind, less sickness, stronger emotionally and physically.


Eating right with the combination of a workout regimen that I didn’t feel was “work” or that I “dreaded” I again felt better in many ways and areas.


I really dislike the word “diet” it’s such a misguidance — to often I see it used as a short term change to reach a quick goal.


Instead of looking at the word “Diet” strictly as 👉🏻 “Ones daily intake …the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.”👈🏻 it’s focused more on 👉🏻 “to restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight”👈🏻


The focus is WRONG and with the cyclical struggle people go through by cutting to ‘low calorie or extreme changes’ for quick results for a goal like “I’ve got vacation coming up or a wedding or …” is not healthy!


How about just a REAL LIFESTYLE CHANGE 🙂 and to learn how to feed your body right (with yes -treats in there too!) to be able to lose weight (if need be), gain muscle (nothing wrong with that), and live a healthy-strong-stable- lifelong healthier YOU!


Does this resonate in any area with YOU? Fed up? Tired of that cycle? NOW is the time! There never will be that perfect time! There will always be a reason or excuse! It’s OK to be selfish when it comes to your health!

I am 35 yrs. old -a Wife and Mother to a Beautiful Boy and my Rainbow Baby Girl. I am a dance and fitness instructor. I own a fitness studio where I offer a variety of fitness classes in the evenings. I recently have become a FULL TIME Fitness Coach after 3+ years of working as a Day Care Assistant after having my Son and leaving my Emotionally Taxing Case Management Position. Fitness is my passion! I love to work out on my own AND with others! Throughout my both of my pregnancies I continued to work out on my own and with Beachbody programs, live my dream of being a work from home mom (for most of the day), and teach at my studio (and other locations) in the evening. After the birth of my son I have worked hard to get my pre-preg. body back. Shaun T's T25 was initial program and then Tony's P90X3 BOTH which I loved the short affective times because with having a newborn baby that was EXACTLY what I needed. I know and understand the self discipline it takes to achieve your desired goals and I am still on that path and have my struggles as everyone else does! I love to offer my support to my clientele with group fitness classes I offer in my community and I feel we work as a team all together to HELP each other. I LOVE offering my support via the web too as I REACH other people that I can't physically see. IT IS AMAZINGLY rewarding and I can't imagine NOT doing what I do! Im currently on my postpartum journey once again and so GRATEFUL and BLESSED to live this healthy lifestyle, lead by example for my family, and support others on their journey too!
