I was sore sore this morning when I rolled out of bed for my Day 12 #of365. I had the thought cross my mind. “I’m not in the mood to run” BUT I shoved that little exercise devil off my shoulder, got my #rainbowbrightrunner gear on and out the door!!!
But it made me think does “I’m not in the mood to exercise.” “One more chip won’t hurt.” “I’ll start eating better and working out tomorrow.” Sound familiar?
How can you override these whispers that ‘take control’ and ‘steal your will’?
Do you find yourself befriending that inner couch potato? Or do you have that strength to PULL out of it and override those thoughts? •Self-Discipline•
• Go big. Studies show that taking on big challenges are more motivating than taking baby steps. So if you want to experience remarkable changes in your health and how you feel, take a big leap toward a healthier lifestyle. Make walking part of your daily routine; add colorful veggies to every meal; and make sugary treats an occasional indulgence vs. daily treat.
•Avoid temptation. MY BIGGEST and easiest tip! If it’s not there you can’t have it! Avoid the aisles in the grocery store that may have something that ‘catches’ your eye!! The best way to shop the grocery store is the perimeter!
•Incentivize it. Give yourself something worth all the effort and energy you’re putting in! Self-discipline deserves a round of applause, a good pat on the back!! Make goals!! Allow incentives. Reward yourself when you reach one of those mini-goals you’ve set! Of course NOT by throwing and pizza and ice cream party lol BUT a massage or new clothes for example.
Will your Will!! You CAN do it!! It’s all in the mindset!!
