Me & Me (My Felt & Found Post) *Long Post–My favorite part of the message is the last sentence*
Ever see those ripped bodies?! The magazine cover? The competition bodies?
I once had a goal -I wanted to look like a fitness pro –>all the time<– I FELT that was a great goal to aspire to. I wanted to be able to wear a swimsuit and have ripped abs popping without needing the flex a muscle. I’ve seen those ripped stomachs and thought WOW so lean. So tapered. I’m going to have that.
So this is me & me. Matter of minutes apart. Well the picture on the left is me flexing. The picture on the right is me normal no flex.
While preparing for my past ‘bucket list’ body competition, I personally realized the discipline it takes (I’m pretty disciplined lol) and its unrealistic for me (no longer a priority to me) to look like that every single day and exhausting to even try. I FOUND that FOR ME my mindset has changed through my lifestyle job and journey & the real deal and real long term goal is healthy and happy.
Still fitting my fitness goals in, strong, lean, and healthy, but now with knowledge and understanding *in my mindset* for those perfect chiseled bodies you see in competitions are exhausting to achieve and unrealistic to maintain.
Even those magazine covers are often digitized to perfection and strict food intake to lean out.
Just know that those images one sees and thinks WOW they’re so ripped most likely isn’t a 365/day body image…they aren’t walking around day in and out that lean and ripped. So for me I know my abs are there…they were made in the kitchen and with help from my workouts. They show up when called upon (LOL) and keep me stable and strong.
Instead of having that goal (to look like ‘that person’ THINK healthy and strong instead.
Let YOUR body become what it’s capable of doing in realistic terms and healthy terms!!
