Anyone who’s made a ‘lifestyle change’ can relate to this image!!!
Honestly what makes me clench my teeth at those that say ‘why are you on a diet!?’ –I’m the first to say I hate the ‘diet’ word because it’s become associated with quick fix ‘solutions’.
When it should be looked at as ‘your diet’ not ‘a diet’.
Those quick fixes are NOT REALISTIC. I tell those who I speak with that you need to make a realistic lifestyle change to see results and KEEP results!!
So when you are thinking of a quick fix ‘diet’ they call it ie. Grapefruit diet — cabbage diet– etc. ask yourself ARE YOU going to eat that everyday for the rest of your life!
If the answer is NO …don’t even start it!!
If you can see yourself eating a healthy balanced diet of appropriate potions of carbs, fruit, veggies, healthy fat, protein….DING DING -THEN that is a healthy lifestyle change you can continuously consciously maintain. YES. It can seem frustrating and challenging BUT as it becomes more routine your taste buds change, you appreciate food, you enjoy new things. PLUS it’s when you restrict yourself ridiculously with those ‘quick fixes’ that you than really struggle and ‘give in and fail’.
PS. With a “lifestyle change” you still can eat the treats you like…you just learn to appreciate it and not eat in moderation!!
