Eat food closest to nature as often as you can! Can’t go wrong with that!! Take that ALONG with proper portion sizes and those are the 2 biggest steps to take towards that healthy lifestyle change your BODY needs! Make it a habit and you’ll be doing it naturally everyday!
Now for those nutrition labels. Don’t OVER stress or get hung up on the calorie count. BEFORE YOU EVEN WORRY ABOUT THAT FIRST MORE IMPORTANTLY LOOK a bit further into that label! Often companies stamp a fancy ‘healthy seal’ on it, marketing it that way, and making it deceivingly ‘good for you’. BUT looking deeper you’ll see that there is a pile of processed junk in it.
So LOOK AT THE INGREDIENT LABEL:
Example – butter vs. margarine:
Margarine: canola and sunflower oils 74%, water, modified palm and palm kernel oils 6%, salt 1.8%, whey protein concentrate 1.4%, soy lecithin 0.2%, vegetable monoglycerides, potassium sorbate, vegetable colour, artificial flavour, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, vitaminD3, alpha-tocopherol acetate (vitamin E).
Butter: cream, salt.
Which would you rather eat? Two easily recognizable ingredients, or a chemical storm of ingredients that’s marketed as “better or good for you”?
