If you’ve heard of the Larabar and like them—try the DIY Sarahbar!
Who doesn’t like a little sweet treat? How about something easy to make and something you KNOW is NOT full of fillers and crapola! Natural sugars! Natural whole ingredients!
*This is a rough estimate of measurements as I blended about 5 Figs and a little more than 1 cup of pitted dates to make these three types of bars (or you can just use dates alone as paste).
Peanut Butter Bar:
Peanuts , Dates & Figs
Blend ¼ cup of chopped dates & figs into a paste.
Blend Peanuts until into pieces and some powder (measuring about 1/3 cup blended).
Mix everything all together and shape into bars (I used a silicon mini ice cube tray for bite size bars)
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar:
Peanuts , Dates, Figs & Carob Powder
Blend ¼ cup of chopped dates & figs into a paste.
Mix in Carob Powder with dates (or cocoa powder) (about a tsp).
Blend Peanuts until into pieces and some powder (measuring about 1/3 cup blended).
Mix everything all together and shape into bars
Coconut Bar:
Dates, Figs , Coconut, Coconut Oil, Cashews, & Almonds
Blend ¼ cup of chopped dates & figs into a paste.
Mix in Coconut Oil with dates (about a tsp).
Blend Almonds & Cashews until into pieces and some powder (measuring about 1/3 cup blended)
Mix 1/4 cup of shredded coconut (or more depending on desired taste).
Mix everything all together and shape into bars
*Other variations I’ve made:
Cinnamon Walnut (used walnuts as nuts and added tsp of Cinnamon)
Cranberry Cashew (used cashews as nuts and added dried cranberries)
Add more of one thing or less of another-depends on your personal taste preference! 🙂 Yum!!
