About 15+ years ago I somehow got a stress fracture in my lower back. I pushed through discomfort and pain-I danced, I did competitive cheerleading for a year (which I believe stressed the situation), took some gymnastics classes, & lived an ordinary life– UNTIL the pain became too much! When it was just too much and had points where just standing and walking took longer then it should I was told I had Spondylolisthesis. This is a condition in which a bone (vertebra) in the spine slips out of the proper position onto the bone below it with very narrow nerve passageways which leads to pinched nerves, sciatica, extreme pain in back and legs etc.

I started to get steroid injections in my back. I didn’t want to get the uncomfortable and painful injections anymore. The last time I got injections they pulled me out of the exam room I was in to look at the images on the screen and showed me where my vertebrae had completely disintegrated. I was told the next option would be back surgery.

I knew one thing I had control over – it was my strength and my body. I started to get determined to strengthen my core to help my own back!

Believe it or not -I attribute that to a workout you may have heard of —> Insanity! 9 years ago – I fell in LOVE with the High Intensity BUTT kicking Sweat dripping workout program! The core focus in that program is great!! I literally felt myself HOLD my CORE in strong every. single. workout. Creator Shaun T constantly would say “strong core” and I swear that’s what did it for me. That constant redirection and reminder. I loved that program and before I knew it I had strengthened my core enough that I no longer needed injections for pain (BETTER YET- no surgery!)

I’ve continued my journey over the years and fitness is my passion! I became a certified AFAA Fitness Instructor. I opened my own fitness studio -I worked out right through my pregnancy- and after having my son- I expanded my in person support to online support – worked through my last pregnancy and current postpartum journey.

So when I say THIS GUY’s CHANGED my life —> HE SURE HAS!

I see, feel, & KNOW the possibilities out there! I helped myself- now let me help YOU help YOURSELF!

I am 35 yrs. old -a Wife and Mother to a Beautiful Boy and my Rainbow Baby Girl. I am a dance and fitness instructor. I own a fitness studio where I offer a variety of fitness classes in the evenings. I recently have become a FULL TIME Fitness Coach after 3+ years of working as a Day Care Assistant after having my Son and leaving my Emotionally Taxing Case Management Position. Fitness is my passion! I love to work out on my own AND with others! Throughout my both of my pregnancies I continued to work out on my own and with Beachbody programs, live my dream of being a work from home mom (for most of the day), and teach at my studio (and other locations) in the evening. After the birth of my son I have worked hard to get my pre-preg. body back. Shaun T's T25 was initial program and then Tony's P90X3 BOTH which I loved the short affective times because with having a newborn baby that was EXACTLY what I needed. I know and understand the self discipline it takes to achieve your desired goals and I am still on that path and have my struggles as everyone else does! I love to offer my support to my clientele with group fitness classes I offer in my community and I feel we work as a team all together to HELP each other. I LOVE offering my support via the web too as I REACH other people that I can't physically see. IT IS AMAZINGLY rewarding and I can't imagine NOT doing what I do! Im currently on my postpartum journey once again and so GRATEFUL and BLESSED to live this healthy lifestyle, lead by example for my family, and support others on their journey too!
