I have to share this quote I posted the other morning on my Sarah Hood -H2TFitness- page. It speaks precisely to something that’s been on my mind on and off ALL DAY!!
{long post!}
I had someone who I’ve been working with message me this AM. Their message triggered a mix of emotions.
First * This person has made a choice to start making BETTER choices in their lifestyle. They’ve had medical concerns and are tired of being tired and sick. They KNEW for awhile what they needed ‘TO DO’ but held themselves BACK due to ‘excuses’ – I can’t make that investment into myself, I feel selfish even taking 30minutes to myself, I don’t have time to plan out what I eat- etc etc.
{Do any of those sound like you!?}
This was the PERFECT time for them to join my accountability group because we are focusing on SELF LOVE!! It’s #Timetoloveme!
I’ve said it before — Who’s going to take care of everyone you’re currently caring for IF YOU AREN’T taking care of yourself!!
She’s been so positive–feeling more and more
comfortable looking in the mirror. LOOKING IN THE MIRROR OR AT PHOTOS of herself. She told me she used to avoid that and cry when she saw herself.
{Can you relate?}
Welllllll this AM she messaged me and said that someone who ‘kept her down’ before she started this lifestyle change made a comment to her that stopped her in her tracks.
•It wasn’t nice
•It was bully type behavior {adult bully=where kids get it from smh}
•It was unnecessary and COULD have caused a complete setback.
BUT despite this persons NEED to express their dissatisfaction with this new persons healthy lifestyle efforts SHE was able to CONFRONT and STAND UP for herself. Before hand, before she saw how these choices she’s been making has made her feel more confident in herself, she would have believed them and let them control her!
•There’s NOTHING wrong with making the choice to EAT a well balanced nutritious diet and get physically active!
•There’s NOTHING wrong being proud of yourself and sharing that ON YOUR OWN PERSONAL page.
•There’s NOTHING wrong with trying to inspire others to see how easy it is with dedication, determination, & commitment.
•Haters will hate! Sad truth is “Hurting people hurt people”.
I say to my groups that YOU NEVER KNOW who you’ll inspire and you’ll inspire more than you know. So be proud and loud!
As Dr. Seuss said:
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
