So for Thanksgiving I made this side dish.
EASY PEASY and tasty!!
I had 4 medium sized acorn squashed.
-Wash, Cut ends, Cut in half and remove seeds
-Slice in 1/2in or thicker slices
-Set in baking sheet or dish
•oven to 375
Glaze ingredients:
-4tbsp of Salted Butter
-8tbsp Pure Honey
-1/2 tsp of almond extract
Fishing Touches:
-spices of choice (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cayenne etc. whatever you like)
-Slivered almonds
•Melt, mix, & brush both sides of the squash slices with the glaze ingredients. Sprinkle with your spice of choice (I used pumpkin pie spice. It’s got the perfect mix of spices I wanted). Bake 15 minutes and brush glaze on again and bake another 15 minutes.
Let the glaze carmalize on both sides. So watch and flip over to get even coloring and carmalization.
-Serve in dish and sprinkle slivered almonds (& if you have any extra glaze).
-I recommend using a pan vs. glass dish as the dish didn’t get that carmelization.
Enjoy!!!
