Monday Mindset!

.

Honor your body…listen to your body…trust your body…LOVE your body! It’s the ONLY ONE we’ve got! Can’t ‘return it’…so even as a fitness fanatic and instructor myself….I’ve had to tone it down to TONE it up! NOW CONQUER the DAY — YOU ARE AWESOME! *message brought to you by a daily dose of Sarahtonin ;)*

.

Long post — #muthablogga #justbloggin #mystory — got 10mins please do feel free keep reading (lol just kidding…60seconds maybe) 😉

.

OK..so I had an epiphany this morning…6am…middle of my workout.

.

*I’m back FULL CIRCLE*…what do I mean by that?

.

Let’s rewind. 16 years ago (WHOA). In high school, my back started to hurt…it progressively got worse to points where standing and walking was labor some. Eventually getting diagnosed with spondylolisthesis I started my journey of pain management with injections in my back. So though years of dance, my simple dream journey to learning a back handspring and back tuck (Which I did get it lol), a year in Mexico doing competitive cheerleading, and life in general, I continued to manage the pain through spinal injections (mind you those themselves aren’t comfortable BUT when you’re already in pain you take the *uncomfortable pain* to resolve the pain). Last injection visit (which was around 2006/2007 I believe) I was told if these didn’t help anymore I’d be up for back surgery next.

.

Fast forward to TODAY — I still can’t believe where I was and where I am. GRANTED I’m not to the point of needing injections again BUT it amazes me what the BODY can do for itself. I ALSO know everyone’s body is different and what worked for me MAY not work for someone else BUT CONDITIONING and strengthening my body within and surrounding my spine, my core muscles, I was able to learn how to posture and stabilize myself better TO NO longer be in the constant pain. TO my amazement —> done through exercise!

.

NOW back to that full circle epiphany. I started it by engraining something I heard celeb trainer Shaun T say…*hold your core in*. So over and over and over…when I worked out I’d watch myself in a mirror to exercise HUGGING my core. So by strengthening those muscles (it didn’t happen overnight) with consistency and commitment I was able to go *INJECTION FREE for years!!! I had no more daily ongoing pain!*

.

…NOW after having my 2nd babe…I’ve been having some painful days…I get ahead of myself in my head…I think I can do what I used to do BUT FORGET that my body -specifically my CORE- went through some MAJOR changes.

.

SO I was working out this AM and BAM it hit me as this same celeb trainer made a comment as I did a core exercise. With HIM in my ear and head again, it’s was like deja vu, I feel a huge difference when I focus on my core through movements —> time to listen AGAIN. Slow down. Honor. Love. Build Strength. Condition. It’s about Self-Care — Self-Love.

I am 40 yrs. old -a Wife and Mother of 4 (Funny Double Digit Boy, my Rainbow Baby Sassy Girl, my Blue Eyed Silly Boy, and my Sweet-as-can-be Baby Girl). Once a dance instructor and fitness studio owner (closed the doors in 2020). I found my passion in Fitness and Coaching after leaving my Emotionally Taxing Case Management Position. I love to work out on my own AND with others! Throughout all 5 of my pregnancies I continued to work out on my own, run, and with Beachbody programs. I know and understand the self discipline it takes to achieve your desired goals and I am still on that path and have my struggles as everyone else does! I love to offer my support to my clientele with group fitness classes I offer in my community and I feel we work as a team all together to HELP each other. I LOVE offering my support via the web too as I REACH other people that I can't physically see. IT IS AMAZINGLY rewarding and I can't imagine NOT having that as part of my life! Im currently on my postpartum journey once again and so GRATEFUL and BLESSED to live this healthy lifestyle, lead by example for my family, and support others on their journey too!
