Bed. Blankets. Tea. Peace & Quiet (well except for my precious B playing with his new Legos…may be awhile before he zonks out).
Something special about this particular tea.
Gosh time flies. A few years ago my dear friend and I went to Costa Rica for a retreat. They had this tea there. I LOVED it. I thought *Twinnings* I can get that back in NY. NOPPPE couldn’t find it anywhere..not even online.
Another dear lady we met there ended up returning back after a year or so and I mentioned to her to bring a box back if she saw it there. Months later I receive a box from Canada (she lives in Canada) and it was THIS TEA. She got a box in Costa Rica & mailed it to me when she got home in Canada.
I was pregnant at the time with Brayden and couldn’t drink it. I put the box in the freezer to keep it as long as I could. Once I had my Baby B I savored some of it but didn’t want to use it all up….in time I thought I had drank it all up until our fridge/freezer went caputz I found a few bags left. Savored one and it still tasted and smelled the same.
When I packed for this trip I grabbed some tea bags and remembered these. I thought once again ‘Oh since I can drink them now’ I’ll bring these with me.
As I let it steep. Deep inhalations of the smell brought me back to such a peaceful place that I first initially tasted it.
Funny how our senses -tastes and smells do that. Funny how the oddest things trigger such memories. Funny how things connect in full circle. Funny how my mind works.
