Oh. My. I have been sooooooo sore since my Tuesday workout. That sore that it hurts to even walk up stairs or sit down. THE GOOD PAIN (lol) and that pain made me dread the thought of running this AM –especially since I’ve been so restless the past few nights and not sleeping well. BUT I always know hat I’ll feel AWESOME after my workout soooo workout done EARRLLLYY and as I knew I felt/feel GUUURREEAAAT (in my best Tony the Tiger voice).
Buuutt with all that I thought I’d chat about Muscle Aches!

Sometimes, especially after starting a new or more intense activity, your aching muscles seem to make you question your next workout.
Minor muscle aches (should be tolerable) are to be expected. I always say SORE TODAY STRONG TOMORROW!! It’s a sign that you’re engaging and working those muscles.
3 things you can do though to help yourself out is:
•Warm-Up before jumping into your workout. That’ll prevent injury while working out. You shouldn’t stretch or jump into an intense workout completely cold –then that soreness could be something worse like a torn muscle vs a worked one.
•After a workout do a cool down and some stretches.
•If you’ve really kicked it up a notch and KNOW you going to be sore, take a bath. After my 24mile run I had a nice warm bath and stretch and to my SURPRISE I wasn’t hurting AT ALL the consecutive days that followed!
•If the pain is on verge of intolerable you can also consider an over-the-counter medication for some relief.
OF COURSE –> See your doctor if muscle aches are severe, impair your movement, or cause any sharp pains. Exercising on an injured muscle can only cause further problems!

I am 40 yrs. old -a Wife and Mother of 4 (Funny Double Digit Boy, my Rainbow Baby Sassy Girl, my Blue Eyed Silly Boy, and my Sweet-as-can-be Baby Girl). Once a dance instructor and fitness studio owner (closed the doors in 2020). I found my passion in Fitness and Coaching after leaving my Emotionally Taxing Case Management Position. I love to work out on my own AND with others! Throughout all 5 of my pregnancies I continued to work out on my own, run, and with Beachbody programs. I know and understand the self discipline it takes to achieve your desired goals and I am still on that path and have my struggles as everyone else does! I love to offer my support to my clientele with group fitness classes I offer in my community and I feel we work as a team all together to HELP each other. I LOVE offering my support via the web too as I REACH other people that I can't physically see. IT IS AMAZINGLY rewarding and I can't imagine NOT having that as part of my life! Im currently on my postpartum journey once again and so GRATEFUL and BLESSED to live this healthy lifestyle, lead by example for my family, and support others on their journey too!
