So I like to call myself a selective vegetarian. I am not against meat as a protein source…I HOWEVER AM against the cruelty of animals, factory farming, and unnecessary injecting of steroids and other ‘additives’.
SO…what protein do I eat? Plenty! Majority comes from Shakes. Eggs–>My sister has chickens where I get my eggs OR I purchase a local farm store/source. Venison–> My brother hunts and venison is actually my preferred meat to eat! Beyond my family resources I eat meat when I KNOW WHERE it came from, how it was raised, and where it was ‘processed’. I have a FANTASTIC restaurant right in my home town (Props to ‘The Schoolhouse Inn & Restaurant) where I feel comfortable ordering a burger from & that I purchase my ground beef from and occasionally. As for other ‘meat’ sources- I eat seafood and fish and occasionally purchase other meat from local farm stores (like chicken or turkey). BUT animals isn’t the only source! Grains, Nuts, Seeds, Beans…and MORE are great sources too! Check out this link for great breakdown of other sources of Protein!
To each their own and I don’t pass judgment to others people’s choices because that is THEIR choice BUT I feel confident and comfortable with my choice and would only strongly encourage that people support their local farmers anyway the BEST that they can WHICH in the end is better for everyone (animals too)!
