About 10 years ago I somehow got a stress fracture in my lower back- pushing through discomfort and pain-I danced, I did competitive cheerleading for a year (which I believe stressed the situation), took some gymnastics classes, & lived an ordinary life– UNTIL the pain became too much! I was then told I had Spondylolisthesis a condition in which a bone (vertebra) in the spine slips ou…t of the proper position onto the bone below it with very narrow nerve passageways which leads to pinched nerves, sciatica, extreme pain in back and legs etc.
I started to get steroid injections in my back. I didn’t want to get the uncomfortable and painful injections anymore. I was told the next option would be back surgery.
I knew one thing I had control over – it was my strength and my body. I started to get determined to strengthen my core to help my own back!
Believe it or not -I attribute that to Shaun T’s Insanity! 5 years ago -my first Beachbody program was Insanity! I fell in LOVE with the High Intensity BUTT kicking Sweat dripping workout program! The core focus in that program is great!! I loved that program and before I knew it I had strengthened my core enough that I no longer needed injections for pain (BETTER YET- no surgery!)
I’ve continued my journey over the years and have completed numerous Beachbody programs (Insanity, Asylum, P90X, P90X2) -opened my own fitness studio -I worked out right through my pregnancy- and after having my son- I jumped into T25 & P90X3 THEN I started to consider Beachbodycoaching. I decided WHY NOT and since then I have completed PiYo & 21 Day Fix and currently a NEW FAV Insanity Max:30!
